This Week In Books- Pre-Holiday Madness Version

I haven’t done this feature in a while, but I must- for I’ve been buying and receiving books up the wazoo the last week and half. Here’s the round-up:

Bought:
Mr. Monk is A Mess- Lee Goldberg.  Second Grave on the Left- Darynda Jones. Notorious Nineteen-Janet Evanovich. And a special “What the hell?” nomination for Sue Grafton and her publishers who put off that Kinsey Short Stories book until January. I could have used some Kinsey this holiday season!

Won(Shelf Awareness): Renato, the Painter-Eugene Mirabelli. Saturday Night Widows-Becky Aikman. Rage is Back-Adam Mansbach. Between Man and Beast-Monte Reel. The Spark-Kristine Barnett. The Burgess Boys-Elizabeth Strout. Everbound-Brodi Ashton(I am WAY excited by this one).

Early Reads(Harper): Girls’Guide to Love and Supper Clubs- Dana Bate.

From Harlequin Mira(Canada) and a book blogger friend: Ambassador’s Daughter- Pam Jenoff.

Early Advance Box via Hachette/Amulet Books: In the Shadow of Blackbirds- Cat Winters. Genie Wishes-Elisabeth Dahl. Undertown-Melvin Bukiet.

From Soho Crime Early Advance Program: Ratlines- Stuart Neville.

From the Author(who apparently found my blog somehow!): On The Rocks- Sue Hallgarth.

Random Reads winner: Aviator’s Wife- Melanie Benjamin. The House Girl- Tara Conklin.

You think that’s a lot? Wait, Christmas is coming and the blog, having just miraculously picked up almost 1000 followers via Facebook in the last week, suddenly is getting not only attention, but 35 author emails to me this morning asking me to review their books. Oh boy. I have a feeling I won’t be going out for a while, got lots of reading to catch up to.

Happy Holidays!
